Hailey's Star Quilt Quilted!!!

I did it! I got this 80x80 inch quilt completely custom quilted. And before the end of June! Which accomplishes my June OMG goal. YES!

In fact, I got it done about a week ago. But life has been busy, and I haven't been able to photograph it, or write about it properly.  So today, I'm just giving you a sneak peak so I can link up with the One Monthly Goal Finish page.

Whew! Have you ever had a project that just seemed to take forever to finish? I do have the binding on and am trying to get it stitched down in the evenings, but that's going ever so s-l-o-w-l-y. So, with summer and family commitments, that will probably be my July goal - get the binding finished up.  At least for now, I'm glad to have accomplished my goal of getting it quilted. I'll write more about this quilt after the Fourth of July. Lots and lots of activities locally in our tourist community. Time to enjoy the summer heat!

How about you? What are you planning for your July Fourth celebrations?

Quilting with a smile,

  1. OMG accomplished! What's on your quilting plate this weekend?

  2. Your quilting is lovely Barb! I can't wait to see more than just a peek :)

  3. Barb, can you tell us how you went about deciding on how to quilt this? I'll have the Round Robin to do from Q&L and it has a lot of similar space. Not sure I will do it and might just send it out but it is nice to know the process.

    1. Carol - I will be doing a full blog post about this after the Fourth and can explain more then. One thing's for certain - this took an immense amount of time, and if I charged my actual time for it, people would faint! Of course, I was slower than some of the fantastic custom quilters you see online, but still it gave me an appreciation for their work!

  4. Beautiful quilting! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish!

  5. Looks like fun colors and pattern, plus amazing quilting! Congratulations on getting it finished!

  6. These are the best Fourth Plans here....hubby has to work. Enjoy yours.

  7. This is gorgeous! It looks like you took your time and enjoyed every single minute - very creative!

  8. Fantastic! Congrats on goal completion!

  9. Wow, a lot of quilting here Barb - beautiful!

  10. This sneak peace looks awesome.

  11. And what I could see of it looks beautiful. I love feathers - it was my favorite thing to do on the longarm. I had a class from Alice Furrey, and you probably never heard of her, but she was awesome, and she died within a year of my getting to take the class at MQS, so I always felt fortunate. She made that my favorite thing, and I still love seeing them on a quilt!

  12. The custom quilting really enhances the quilt. Congratulations on your beautiful finish and thanks for linking up on behalf of the 2018 FAL hosts.

I always love to hear your thoughts!

Remembering All The Little Things

I have let my blog side away in lieu of posting photos and updates over on Instagram. For me, it takes less time, and is a faster way to doc...
