This is one of the more fun projects I have worked on in quite a while. The pattern is Nighttime Blossoms by Cynthia Brunz Designs. It was featured in Fons & Porter's Easy Quilts' Fall 2015 edition.
This was a fairly fast, fun and easy quilt to put together! I used a layer cake of Amy Butler's True Colors and some dark navy blue Kona for the background. I love the way the white centers and diamonds really pop against that background.
I liked the pink and green patterned design in the center of the photo above, so much so that I made the backing entirely of that fabric.
I followed Cynthia's quilting with spirals in the navy background and wavy lines radiating through the blossoms. I left the white alone so it would pop!
This was such a great pattern to use for fat quarters or your stash. Each fabric is distinctive in its own right, so it is showcased in each blossom.
I am tickled to have this finished. I began stitching it together at our guild's retreat in October, and now am pleased to have it all quilted and bound. Makes me happy looking at it, and it will be a great quilt to snuggle in.

I love your quilt! It's beautiful! I love the quilting on it too. Those swirls look perfect there!ReplyDelete
I love it! Great choice of fabrics and the quilting is perfect. It will be perfect to snuggle under after your surgery. I don't envy that kind of surgery - geez!ReplyDelete
What a great quilt--love your colors! And the quilting is great. And remember you will not be able to see any dust bunny's at your level! Wishing you a speedy recovery.ReplyDelete
This is such a great quilt and a great pattern. I may have to try a few blocks.ReplyDelete
I hope you recover quickly from your surgery and that the down time doesn't make you too crazy. I suspect they'll have you up and moving on that knee before you want to be.
Hay, I don't ever think about the dust on top of the fridge because I'm so short. I wonder if tall people come to my house and gag.
That navy blue background is perfect and really allows those blossoms to pop! This is a beautiful quilt. Good luck on your surgery, I hope it goes well and you recover quickly! :)ReplyDelete
Your quilt is so pretty! I really like the fabric choices. I am making this quilt, too, but have just made one block to test it out! Now I'm anxious to get back to it. Thanks for the inspiration!ReplyDelete
Looks really pretty! Love the contrasting colors. Hope your surgery goes well and you get back on your feet fast. Rest and do all your "hand" sewing while you are recovering. :)ReplyDelete

I like the movement that the quilt has and the white adds such a nice contrast to the navy. Great quilting just adds to the quilt. Is this one for you? Best wishes on a successful knee surgery and a speedy recovery.ReplyDelete
