I really loved the fabric I used for the backing and binding. I debated long and hard if I wanted to use it for backing. But then decided it was so pretty, I could easily flip it over and have two table runners in one!
This was a fun project! I used a charm pack of squares that had a variety of Amy Butler fabrics. It was fun to see how the placement of the prints altered the design.
Which one do you like better?
I have a little breathing room in October, and I'm very much looking forward to it. My daughter will be coming home to help me celebrate my birthday. And our son is moving back to Idaho as his job search wasn't very fruitful in Oregon. It will be good to have him closer.
Oh! And another great thing about October - we have our guild's Quilting Retreat scheduled for a lovely lodge by a mountain lake north of here. I'll have a couple more things to add to my ALYOF for October, and maybe I can make some headway on them there. One can only hope.
Stay calm and quilt!

The fabrics in both of them are so pretty. They make the table look so pretty too. Nice finishes for September!
ReplyDeletePretty finish :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right, the backing is so beautiful you could easily reverse these. Fronts looking great too :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes! Both are so bright and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on two gorgeous finishes! I like the first one but I think that is because I am drawn to the angles.
ReplyDeleteI really favor the quilting on the first one. Congratulations on your finishes. They sure feel good, don't they?
ReplyDeleteThere are both lovely. I am currently working on a quilt using many of these same fabrics and I just love them. I can't choose which one of you table runners I like better - and I love that you can use the back facing up as well! nice quilting, too ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Barb they are both absolutely beautiful! Love the fabrics, the quilting, just everything! I love the simplicity of the 2nd one -- but the quilting on the 1st one the best. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThey both are great and love the backing too! My first choice is #1 however both are great. Have a wonderful Birthday and enjoy having the kids home! I am sure it will be a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI have a yard of that Amy Butler fabric! Dont know what I"ll do with it. Good for you to finish.
ReplyDeleteOh my they are both really nice! I really love the backing fabric and you are right....you can use the backing as a table runner too. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous Barb! You know how much I love Amy Butler, and you have used them beautifully. I love both of them, but I really think I like the second one best!

Nice finishes! Both are pretty, but I have to admit I like the jagged one better. It really shows off the fabrics. How lovely to have both a birthday AND a retreat to look forward to!
